Mississippi Business Journal honors 25 women whose leadership is helping move the state forward

STARKVILLE, Miss., Oct. 21, 2026 – Anna Barker, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of The Glo Companies, has been named one of the Mississippi Business Journal’s 2026 Women in Business honorees. The awards recognize 25 outstanding women from across Mississippi whose leadership, professional accomplishments and commitment to their communities are helping move the state forward.
Honorees were chosen for their professional achievement, leadership and influence, innovation, community involvement, mentorship, character, and the impact they have made on the people and organizations around them.
“We have remarkable women throughout Mississippi who are leading companies and organizations, creating jobs, mentoring others, and giving their time and talents back to their communities,” said Mississippi Business Journal Publisher Scott Coopwood. “We want to recognize 25 of these outstanding women and tell their stories.”
Barker co-founded Glo with Hagan Walker in 2015 while the two were students at Mississippi State University, and she has led the company’s brand, design and creative direction from the beginning. The Glo Companies is the Mississippi-based maker of Glo Pals, Glo Cubes and Light-Up Library, and the parent company of MEAVIA.
The recognition follows Barker’s selection for Inc.’s 2024 Female Founders 250 list, where she was the only honoree from Mississippi.
The 25 honorees will be recognized at the Mississippi Business Journal Women in Business Luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the Old Capitol Inn in Jackson, and will be featured in the November edition of the Mississippi Business Journal.
